​ABOUT THE HALL

Construction and dimensions.

The hall was built in the mid 1950's, is of wooden construction and with corrugated roof.  

 

Dimensions of main hall are 12.9m x 7.2m giving a total available floor space of 83.06sq.m. The floor is ideal for dancing.

There is a stage at one end of the hall measuring 5.28m x 1.86m and stands approx. 0.6m above the floor.

 

There is a substantial kitchen at the opposite end of the hall to the stage which has 2 x electric cooker, fridge microwave and double sink with running hot/cold water.  Good working surface with adequate storage for plates, glasses, cutlery etc.  Shutters are also available to serve as a bar. There is a store room at the same end of the floor as the kitchen which is used for the stowage of tables and chairs etc.

 

At the other end of the hall there are separate toilets with disabled facilities.

 

The hall is heated by overhead electric heaters.

 

The stage is adequately supplied with double electric socket, and well lit with numerous spotlights.  Accoustics are reported as being very good.

 

Car parking facilities.

The recently extended car parking area of hard standing sits between the road and hall with spaces for approximately 20 cars.

There is still work to be done to further improve the parking area to reduce the collection of rainwater.

Maximum Capacity.

The maximum capacity for the hall is 140 persons.

 

There are also facilities for the disabled.
